Definition of data economy law

Data economy law deals with legal positions on data. In particular, these can be ownership-like positions in data (also in the form of a database), rights of use in data or regulations on the transfer of data.

Data base protection law is part of data economy law. It is therefore about data as an intangible legal asset. EU Data economy law primarily considers data as an economic good and provides regulations in B2B relationships. In addition, it also concerns the relationship “company – state” and the relationships between state agencies.
