Free flow of non-personal data Regulation

This EU Regulation aims to foster the free flow of data other than personal data with the EU.

As a rule, it prohibits data localisation, i.e., imposing the processing of data in the territory of a specific state or hindering the processing in another state. In addition, it encourages and facilitates the development of self-regulatory codes of conducts for, above all, switching of data processing service providers and comparing data processing products and services by certification. Beyond, the EU Free flow of non-personal data Regulation supports data availability for competent authorities and sets out procedures for cooperation between authorities.
